We contracted with Mayra to do usability testing of an early version of our Knowledge Guru game authoring tool in 2013. She asked terrific questions before she began the project, she kept us up to date as she tested, and she prepared a detailed, clear report at the end. She organized her findings extremely well.
Because of Mayra’s efforts and excellent testing, we were able to apply several enhancements to our product and its user documentation – enhancements that made the product easier and more intuitive to use.
I highly recommend Mayra for analysis and design of user interfaces for eLearning or instructional purposes. She asks well-thought out questions about the users, does a thorough job testing all the functionality and analyzing its placement, logic, etc, and offers clear, useful recommendations. I would definitely work with Mayra again.Sharon Boller, President, Bottom-Line Performance. (USA)
An award-winning learning design company contracted me in 2013 to do a review and usability test of an early version of their game authoring tool.
I used my background as a researcher and as an instructional designer to identify areas for improvement. My first step was to assume different roles and attitudes. Users follow different routines and the way they use tools is influenced by many factors such as experience, level of skill and old habits.
After defining the characteristics of each group of end-users, I evaluated their response to the system by following Jacob Nielsen’s five usability components.
My recommendations led to several enhancements of the product and its user documentation. The enhancements made the product easier and more intuitive to use.
